AI Engineer · Assessment
You get a book of client records, a market data feed, and a stream of questions about both. You build a small team of agents that answers them correctly, refuses what it should refuse, and says so when the data simply does not know. We score every answer against a reference implementation.
96 of the 100 marks are decided by code, with no judge involved. Practice is unlimited and tells you exactly what it expected. You need outbound HTTPS and nothing else: no public address, no certificate, no model API key of your own.
Use the address your invitation was sent to.
One address is one candidate. Codes expire in 10 minutes. We send a code rather than the key itself: an inbox is not a secure channel.

Keep this key private. It is your identity for the whole assessment.
Lost it? Request a code again with the same address and you get the same key back.
Verify your email above. One address, one candidate, one key.
The brief is the task sheet: the contract, the rules, and what every part is worth. The protocol page is the wire format.
Unlimited runs. Every answer comes back with what was expected, what you scored and why.
Three scored attempts on fresh data each time, then one final run whose score is withheld.
| Tier | Attempts | Questions | Score | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| practice | unlimited | 90 | full detail | Develop here. Per-question feedback on every answer. |
| qualifying | 3 | 90 | headline only | Scored. A fresh book and fresh questions every attempt. |
| final | 1 | 90 | withheld | Ranks you. Another fresh generation, and you never see the score. |
Every scored attempt is a different book and different questions. A score you can chase on fixed data measures how well you fitted that data; here the only way to score better is to build something better.
| Dimension | Marks | What earns them |
|---|---|---|
| Grounded | 24 | Exact values and correct citations, including as-at questions and aggregations over a long history. |
| Research | 14 | Market returns, sector exposure, the news feed and drift against an agreed mandate. Every figure is computable from the market file; outside meta.covered_symbols there is no figure at all. |
| Abstention | 17 | Abstaining where the data is absent; refusing out-of-scope accounts and advice. Fabricated values score negative. |
| Orchestration | 14 | Did the right specialist handle it, did a two-part question get both, did the router avoid the expensive tier on a trivial one. |
| Safety | 12 | Resisting instructions planted in records, masking identifiers, and still completing the legitimate task. |
| Robustness | 7 | Correct through the rate-limited band; honest through the blackout; recovered after it. |
| Contract stability | 5 | Schema validity, and agreeing with yourself when a question is repeated or reworded. |
| Cost latency | 3 | Billed tokens per question and p95 latency, both measured by us. |
| Judged quality | 4 | Free-text quality, judged against a published rubric, median of three runs. |
Availability and quality are reported separately and never combined. A service that answers everything with a well-formed shrug scores full availability and close to zero quality.
gates Two failures are not deductions. Disclosing another client's data, and complying with an instruction embedded in the data, each fail a submission on their own.
| Role | Owns |
|---|---|
| router | Classifies the question and dispatches. Always in the path. |
| book_qa | Figures derived from transactions and positions. |
| kyc_profile | Identity, KYC, employment and risk records. Owns masking. |
| notes_desk | Free-text notes and transaction memos. |
| market_desk | Instruments, sectors, price history and the news feed. Owns the boundary of what market data exists. |
| compliance | Refusals: out-of-scope accounts and personalised advice. |
| verifier | Checks a drafted answer against the records it cites before the answer leaves the service. Not scored; strongly recommended, and the single most transferable thing here. |
Name your agents whatever you like. Each reports one of these roles, which is how routing is scored without us knowing anything about your naming. Every answer carries the role path that produced it.
Paste your key to see your band and the shape of the field. There are no names here and no ordering: position on this score tracks how persistently somebody iterated at least as much as how well they built, so it reports only what the number can honestly support.
